Little Elf Friend

Well, a package arrived today a month sooner than I thought it’d even be shipped. This is the doll I’ve been waiting for, I’ve wanted her for a long time now and saved for her. She is so tiny, a total of 9.7cm tall. I got her extra hands, her sleeping face, and a pair of resin “witchy” boots. She makes liberty prints look large and most of them are quite petite.   Astrid isn’t quite sure what to make of the troublemaker. I got her Mina’s dress to wear for now since she came before my week where I […]

Drip, drip, drop, little April shower….

It decided to be a bit like this yesterday. That’s not my excuse for not posting, but you should listen to it anyway the music of Bambi is beautiful. I worked on the baskets on and off, two metres of ribbon yield only about two baskets if you want more than a single ribbon height or lids. Here’s two I finished:     Astrid has come to the conclusion that in the absence of my other doll, they should definitely be hers. After all, they fit so nicely in her lap. The one on the left is my first […]

I’ve always been a basket case…

At least that’s what I tell myself, it explains random thoughts that whisper in my ear from a doll that by all accounts isn’t even made yet and isn’t expected for a month or possibly several. I quite blame Casey and her little Tessie, I’ve been reading her blog from when Tessie popped in. Currently just got to 2010, and I think she’s making my elf show up in my head before she’s in my hands. So what does she want, you might ask? Literally, baskets. Where will I keep all my things?? Well, despite the fact she’s not even […]

happy travellers are we

This caravan kit is somewhere in the mail on it’s way to me. It comes with the stuff to make everything in the picture, but I don’t feel like I’llĀ keep it that style. It’s so very pastel and mostly green-blue which isn’t so much my thing. Here’s a closer look at most of the insides. It’s around 1:16 scale, I think? But who is it for, you might ask? Not Mina who though cute has gotten into the habit of falling apart at little to no provocation. Particularly her foot which seems to have an allergy to her ankle. No […]

Guess whose back?

Shady’s back, tell a friend. You know, part of the reason I haven’t been posting is I had every intention of my posts all being nicely shot with my “fancy” camera, but the damn thing is a chore to set up when you don’t have a good outside spot to shoot from, so I keep telling myself I can’t post, then I don’t and so on and so forth and then it was July and now it’s October. We’d best put that notion to rest or I’ll never get it done. If you follow me on InstagramĀ then you’ve probably seen […]

Happy Places

This is Mina, a Cu-Poche Anne doll (* figure, technically, but to me, she’s a doll) who stands about 11cm’s tall. She’s tiny, posable, and desperately in need of a home. Right, Mina?   …Yeah, I’m still working on that part. But with a new size doll, comes a need for new size accessories. Mina is a sort of peculiar size, she’s not quite long enough in the legs to comfortably fit in 1:12 scale furniture, but because of her headĀ size, most of it looks fine until she tries to reach the floor. 1:16 scale should work about right, but […]
